Improving School Communications with ParentMail
For a long time the school has been looking into a improved way of communicating with parents and carers. In this day and age, paying for trips, residentials, swimming etc should not involve having to write cheques or find the correct amount of cash. At the same time, giving permission for your child to participate in a rugby competition or take part in a school trip should be a simple process for parents and carers. A very high majority of parents have already stated that they would prefer to pay contributions and school dinner money online.
Therefore we have invested in a new system from ParentMail. We are launching the new service from 26th May which will enable more effective communication between school and parents/carers. This system will be used for text/email/payments/school dinners and also includes an app (Android or Apple smartphone use) which makes it easier to accept online payments. The online payment service (+Pay) will allow you to pay for school items on your smartphone, tablet or computer. There will not be an additional fee for using the online payment system, you simply pay the amount required for dinners/trips etc. The system will also allow you to book your child’s choice of school dinner weekly online in advance.
To be able to start using ParentMail we will require you to register which you can do in the following ways:
Please click on the link from the text message and follow the verification process. You will be asked to enter some details, answer a security question to verify who you are and to set a password for your account.
Please click on the link from the email and follow the verification process. As above, you will be asked to enter some details, answer a security question to verify who you are and to set a password for your account.
If you have an Android or Apple smartphone, we would highly recommend you download the free ParentMail App so that you can make easy online payments on the go and keep track of school events/dinner money balances etc once you have registered for the service. To do this, simply search for “ParentMail” in your App store. We also hope to have a branded Kingsclere CE Primary School ParentMail icon within the next month. We will confirm via ParentMail once this has become available on the App stores.
You will be able to see via ParentMail when you need to pay for a lunch, trip or give permission for a sporting competition that is relevant to your child. Messages will be sent to your phone / email to inform you that you have an item to respond to for school.
Online payments will be transferred directly into the school bank account making it an easier, safer and more secure method than sending cash or cheques into school. ParentMail doesn’t store credit or debit card details and works in the same way as other large retailers who accept online payments.
Please be assured that ParentMail is registered with the Information Commissioner and guarantees that all information you provide will be kept private and will not be passed on to any other organisation.
If you do not wish to make payments online, you can of course, continue to make cash, or cheque payments via the school office.
If you have any issues or queries with the process please contact Mrs Dudman in the school office as soon as possible. We will be holding a workshop to help parent/carers who may need help accessing the service on Wednesday 7th June at 2.30pm.
