At Kingsclere CE Primary School we offer our children a range of opportunities to learn a musical instrument during their time at the school.
Ann O'Shaughnessy provides guitar lessons on a weekly basis for our KS2 children. The children play in assembly as well as have the opportunity to work their way through the grading award system for the guitar.
Mrs Spencer-Healey runs a KS1 (ages 5-7) choir. This is a natural feeder for our KS2 choir and the children have the opportunity to perform in assemblies and school concerts.
Hampshire Music Services offer our Year 3 children an exciting opportunity to learn an instrument through whole class teaching on a weekly basis. They offer tuition and provide equipment and necessary resources on a choice of three different instruments, with one term spent on each. This unique approach enables children to make an informed choice when wanting to go on to learn an instrument at a higher level and an opportunity to read music for a range of instruments.
Cheam School currently supports additional music lessons for flute, trumpet and the Cheam School Music Teacher, Mr Tim Bennett provides instruction on a weekly basis to our KS2 (7-11) school choir, who perform on a regular basis, both at school and in our termly services at St Mary's Church.
